These images from the Robinson Studio Collection were taken for the Grand Rapids Herald. The images often were published in the newspaper shortly after they were taken. Thanks to support from the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation, the entire Herald series of over 45,000 images will be digitized and made available.

The Robinson Studio Collection is the largest archival collection held by the Grand Rapids History & Special Collections Department Archives. It contains more than 950,000 black & white negatives, containing Grand Rapids views, news, businesses & people from the 1930s to the 1960s.
